The replacement cost of tyres is a significant factor in the overall running costs of any truck operator. If the replacement is premature due to the rapid scrubbing of tyres caused by wheel mis-alignment, that's just money down the drain. Wheel Alignment is one of our specialties at Axis. We designed and manufactured our own axle correction unit for trucks and 4WD's over 14 years ago. And we didn't stop after our 10,000th wheel alignment in 1997. In 1998 we upgraded our facility with the installation of a drive aligning pit utilising laser technology. This allows us to achieve even closer tolerances for rear suspension systems. Under the direction of Len Brown, we carry out all aspects of truck wheel alignment using our newly installed facility together with a recently purchased electronic angle indicator. Our alignment facility also includes a 200 tonne camber correction system for on-vehicle steer "I" beam axles, drive axle housings and trailer axles. A wide range of wedges is available for correcting caster angles. Axis Truck Repairs also does drive and trailer alignments using our axle correction unit and/or laser wheel aligner and toe-in and 'on-truck' wheel balancing can be checked and adjusted as necessary.
